In the Main pipe design, as well as the Block design, the diameters and pressures, are calculated to give the required flows. In the Network analysis, however, the diameters are predefined, the pipe design forms a closed network (rings) and the flows and pressures are calculated to give the hydraulic situation.
This program analyses the network’s hydraulics, over a given period, under different operating conditions (shifts).
The system does not take any decisions regarding pipe sizes, and only generates information for a given network. It can, however, be used for design by checking the solution for different pipe sizes, pumps, etc.

It is normally important to determine the hydraulic solution in a network under each operating condition. However, if the network also has balancing reservoirs, in which water levels may vary significantly during the analysis period, system reports may be required at regular intervals while a simulation is run.
